What happened to Halloween?

Did anyone else feel like Halloween just sped by! I sure do.

I love to decorate for Halloween & it's so much easier when you don't have to worry about outdoor decorations... This year I was all about Cheap & Easy!
I loved this cat I saw on Helping Little Hands! It took less that 20 minutes & I already had everything I needed. It did take a while before I stopped doing a double take when I would see it out of the corner of my eye. I didn't do a back piece cuz we are on the top floor & no one would be seeing it up close from outside. Payton decided that it needed green eyes so I pulled out some tissue paper. So easy!

Next we have a banner. Payton saw a picture of a banner on one of the many blogs that I follow & said that it would be perfect for us if it said Spooky Halloween (picture spider fingers & a low scary voice).
So why not! I have a Cricut that was recently given to me & I've loved having it. Thank you so much K's. So I used the Alphalicious & Paper Doll Dress Up cartridges.
The figures that were black I used some rubbing chalk to 'fill in' the cuts to show detail...
Payton really had a fun time helping me with this one.

This next one is super easy & is so much easier to do BY YOURSELF!!! First off I want to send out a major shout out to Disney! I just discovered this website there were so many things on there that we will want to do next year (when the month of October will surely go by much slower)
So they had these Ghost Chairs, but the best part is that I only have to sew 2 straight lines for each cover. The bats & the ghost faces are removable. The other layer of awesomeness comes when you remove the Halloween themed stuff & you ad a turkey, snowman, valentines day heart & birthday themed stuff.
The only down side is that my 5 year old likes to put her hand on the backs of the chairs & sits on her knees with her feet over the back so I'm not sure how well these will hold up but for $3/yd & only 1 yard for 4 slip covers I think I can find room in my budget to re-do a couple if needed. The adhesive spray is very messy & I recommend doing it over dirt or grass (maybe not outside your kitchen window over the fire escape... I'm just saying) :)

This was Payton's idea. She wanted something scary & small. She wanted to scare her teacher but sadly it never made it to school. I will tell you this, it would have looked a lot cooler if I had something to copy it from. Payton liked it & that's all that matters. BTW I do know that the mouth isn't done yet but I got distracted & when I had time again Payton said it was done. So it was done.

This wreath I made last year. All I have to say is messy, messy, MESSY! I was cleaning up cotton strings for weeks off of my clothes & my couch.
It did take a long time to complete but I love the results! My husband doesn't get excited about wreaths like I do but I don't think he quite gets it... that's okay. I'll love him still... as long as he leaves my wreaths alone! :)

Here was an extra spider from the banner that found a home. I liked where Payton put him so he stayed. And he'll most likely be there again next year.

I've seen several Witch crafts in blogland this year. I experimented with doing a subway art something-or-other but never made the time. When I saw this little witch & her cat on the broom I couldn't resist. It is from a cricut cartridge that I do not have to I did it the old fashion way, print, trace & cut. I wanted to find a more clever way to display the words but in a fit of desperation I just inked the page I printed originally & added some card stock & done.
Above it how it looked for 1 week. I didn't like that you couldn't see the witch from across the room when the lights weren't turned on, Hey I spent a lot of time cutting her out! So I finally decided what to do.
When in doubt, GLITTER!!! I have to say I am so proud! All of my other Halloween stuff is put away but she will still out.
I love Halloween! I love to decorate for Halloween! I didn't go as far to make my girls their costume, remember Cheap & Easy, & the ones I got qualified as both.
